Thank you for trusting us with the care of your patients.
We treat your referral as the highest compliment and look forward to providing excellent and convenient care to your patient. As board certified orthopaedic surgeons we are trained to care for all types of musculoskeletal problems including fractures, joint and muscle injuries, and arthritis. As specialists in Orthopaedic Oncology we are also trained to take care of all benign and malignant problems of the musculoskeletal system including sarcoma, bone cancer, and pathologic fractures.
Our colleagues tell us that they continue to make referrals to us for these reasons:
We Respect Your Existing Patient Relationship
We understand that you have invested time and energy into building your relationship with your patients, and we recognize our role as a helpful consultant who enhances that relationship.
We also understand that many patients we see are being sent to “clear” or “rule out” a potential musculoskeletal malignancy or tumor. Rest assured that any patient who has completed a full evaluation and has been determined by our specialists to not require further treatment will be promptly referred back to their referring orthopaedic surgeon for continued care.
We Get Timely Results
We schedule patients to be seen promptly. Once we have the necessary preliminary information about your patient’s case, we will order testing and plan for follow-up. We pride ourselves on prompt and accurate diagnosis so that we can move ahead with a treatment plan as soon as possible.
Also, please understand that the workup of a potential musculoskeletal malignancy or tumor must proceed through a logical and stepwise approach. Through our close working relationships with radiology facilities, interventional radiologists and hospitals, this workup is done thoroughly and efficiently on an outpatient basis. In general, only patients with intractable pain or pathologic fractures need inpatient care and workup.
We Report Promptly
You will receive a faxed note very shortly after we see your patient, and we will continue to keep you updated on a regular basis during the course of care. We are happy to follow up with a phone call the same day we see your patient if you request such contact.
Making an Appointment with Our Practice is Easy
Although we participate with many plans, we do not contract with all insurance carriers. However, since we provide a rare service, our office can obtain authorizations from nearly any insurance carrier, including AHCCCS plans, to cover your patient’s care and visit. As long as your referral states “Orthopaedic Oncology” as the specialty needed, we rarely have difficulty obtaining authorization.
We make our physicians’ schedules as accessible as possible to new patients. To get your patient their first appointment with us, please fax the appropriate documents including:
- patient information sheet
- copy of your insurance card (front and back)
- authorization or referral from your insurance company
- office visit notes
- imaging reports
- surgical records
- pathology reports
